I’ve tried a few approaches to breading fish fillets over the last few weeks, this one seems to be the best for the air fryer and has a nice crunch to it. Not as dark as a deep-fried fillet but much healthier and still very nice. This will be my preferred method from now on.
Ingredients
Basa Fillet (any white fish will be good)
½ Cup Plain Flour
Black Pepper
½ Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
½ Lemon (to serve)
Egg
Cooking Instructions
Beat the egg into a bowl
Put the breadcrumbs and any seasoning into a second bowl
Put the flour into a third bowl
Pat the fish fillet dry with kitchen roll
Dip into the flour first, then the egg and then finally the breadcrumbs to coat
Place into the air fryer basket
Cook at 200°C for around 10 to 12 minutes until the fish is cooked (flakes easily or use a thermometer)
Serve with chips and fresh lemon juice
Tip: a little garlic powder or paprika can be added to the breadcrumbs to add flavour but not too much or you will overpower the flavour of the fish
