Chickpea Experiment

A few days ago I happened on a sale of dried chickpeas in the supermarket. Since they last fairly indefinitely I bought several bags to add to the bag and a half which were already in my kitchen. I don't have many recipes which use these so had a quick look for something on the web and then adapted it to match the ingredients I have available.

The result was a Chickpea and Mushroom Stew cooked in the slow cooker and it is pretty good. Quite cheap with 6 portions costing less than £3.00 and healthy too. I can see this being another one to repeat and it is also ideal for batch cooking and freezing so I've added it to my recipes page.
