French Toast (Air Fryer)

Never tried this in the air fryer before, it worked very well and will be added to my list of regular breakfasts to give me another option. I have estimated it at around 245 calories.


There are loads of recipes for French toast, I used this one as it only includes ingredients which I usually have to hand.


Ingredients

  1. 2 slices medium thick bread

  2. egg

  3. 40 ml milk

  4. ¾ tsp cinnamon

  5. ½ tsp vanilla extract


Cooking Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the air fryer to 180°C

  2. Beat the egg in a dish large enough to hold a slice of bread

  3. Mix in the milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract

  4. Soak the bread (I normally use wholemeal but any will do) in the mixture, I leave it in there for at least 20 seconds

  5. Arrange in the air fryer basket so that the slices are not touching

  6. Cook for at 180°C until done to your taste turning once part way through, I have found that 10 minutes works well for me

  7. Serve immediately while warm


Tip: These are even better served with chopped fruit and a sprinkling of icing sugar on top.
