I had one of my occasional pub trips the other day and got talking to one of my friends who has done a bit of travelling recently. I mentioned how hard it can be to find the route to take on public transport. 'Oh no it isn't', he replied.
It seems that I have missed out on Rome2Rio, a useful website or app (available in both forms) which does exactly this.
I've had a play with it since and it is very impressive. It offers a wide range of journey options in just seconds including those with multiple modes of travel in a single trip.
Rome2Rio even provides some cost estimates, highlights the quickest of cheapest option and has booking links.
I can see myself making good use of this but not on the totally fictitious journey I've included in the screenshot.
