Red Lentil & Bacon Soup

Soup Maker

A nice winter soup, made in my soup maker but easily adapable to the stove top.

4 servings @ 280 calories


This recipe was found on the Lianas Kitchen site which I use quite often.

  • 1 Onion

  • 1 Medium Carrot

  • 1 Tbsp Sunflower or Olive Oil

  • 1 Medium Potato

  • 1 x Chicken Stock Pot

  • 200g Red Lentils (dried)

  • 4 Rashers of Cooking Bacon

  • Water


  1. Chop the onion roughly

  2. Trim the fat from the bacon and chop the meat into small pieces

  3. Sauté the onions and bacon in the oil if your machine has this function

  4. Rinse the lentils

  5. Chop the potato and carrot

  6. Add the ingredients to the soup maker

  7. Add water to the ‘Max’ mark

  8. Cook on ‘Smooth’
