Slow Cooked Poached Salmon

A nice easy way to cook salmon fillets, easier than cleaning the steamer several times to get rid of the smell of fish

Ingredients

  • 2 Salmon Fillets

  • 1/2 Lemon

  • 1 Star Anise (Optional)

  • Water

Steps

  1. Place some tin foil in the slow cooker so that it comes up the sides, this will make it easy to remove the cooked salmon and the skin will stick to it making it easier to remove that too

  2. Add the salmon fillets

  3. Slice the lemon and place on top of the salmon

  4. Add the star anise (optional)

  5. Add enough boiling water to just cover the salmon

  6. Cook for 2 hours on LOW

  7. Remove salmon, discard the lemon and  and serve


Tip: Cooking time will vary, salmon is easily overcooked so check at 15 minute intervals starting after one and a half hours.
