Steamed Ginger Pudding

Slow Cooker

Nice and easy comfort food, great with ice cream. This is adapted from a recipe I saw on Facebook.

8 Servings @ 250 calories


  • 175g butter

  • 100g dark brown sugar

  • 75g golden syrup

  • 3 tsp ginger

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg 

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 175g self raising flour

  • 3 eggs


  1. Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl

  2. Add the syrup

  3. Sift in the spices and flour and mix well

  4. Add eggs and mix well

  5. Put the mixture in a buttered pudding bowl and cover the top with foil

  6. Place in the slow cooker surrounded boiling water to at least half way up the bowl

  7. Cook for 3 hours on HIGH

  8. Tip the pudding onto a plate and serve with ice cream
