I was watching a short video about 'second life use' for old EV batteries, it had some interesting content but included things like Nissan using old Leaf batteries in forklifts in their factories.
This got me thinking; by going public with niche low-volume experiments like this, is it possibly doing the industry no real good as is so easy to be accused of ‘greenwashing’ (yes that is ironic).
Maybe they would be better off keeping quiet on those types of projects and majoring on publicity over grid-scale storage or home storage for solar or off-peak cheap power to reduce bills.
I do feel that the EV industry does sometimes shoot itself in the foot so to speak, quite possibly accidentally.
